Growing Together as One School Community

Students, families, staff and partners share a role in creating a safe and supportive place to learn.

Kyangwali Secondary School began through the shared effort of refugee and Ugandan communities. That spirit of cooperation continues to shape the school today.

Partnership strengthens learning

Learners do best when the important people around them communicate and work toward the same goal. Teachers guide learning, families encourage consistent habits, students take responsibility for their choices and community partners help create new opportunities.

A strong school community also makes room for different backgrounds and perspectives. Respectful relationships help every learner feel valued and able to participate.

Our shared responsibility

  • Maintain open and respectful communication
  • Encourage regular attendance and punctuality
  • Protect a safe, orderly learning environment
  • Celebrate effort, improvement and responsible leadership
  • Work together when a learner needs additional support

By acting together, the whole community helps make education a lasting investment in each student and in the future of the region.
